File # 2017-10880

On November 27 at 7:30 p.m., the Oceanside RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle that was reportedly stuck in the ditch on Martindale Road in Parksville. Upon attendance, police discovered the vehicle, a blue 1998 Ford F150 truck had been reported stolen days earlier from Nanaimo.

The occupants of the vehicle, a 29 year old man of no fixed address and a 30 year old female from Bowser were arrested for being in possession of stolen property.

The female was released from custody a short time later on a Promise to Appear in Nanaimo Provincial Court. The man, who is a chronic Prolific Offender (more than 30 criminal convictions) had several outstanding arrest warrants and has been held in custody to attend Court on December 1.

A search of the stolen vehicle revealed further property that was recently stolen. These included items from a vehicle that was broken into in French Creek and a break and entry to a residence in Bowser. Therefore, further charges against the man are expected.
