Bowser Stabbing – Setting the record straight

The Oceanside RCMP is releasing this follow up to address public concerns generated over the stabbing reported on yesterday.

The attack on the victim that started in her vehicle was unprovoked. The RCMP are not sure why the man stabbed the victim, but do know it was not a result of any wrongdoing by the victim.

The victim was not impaired or under the influence of any substances, and was driving legally at the time the stabbing occurred.

Crown Counsel has approved one charge of Aggravated Assault and the accused is currently remanded in custody.

The Oceanside RCMP will not be commenting further on this file.
