Oceanside RCMP Secure-Us Program

2017-03-28 14:20 PDT

A new program has been launched by the Oceanside RCMP in order to help people better secure their property. The program has only been in effect for 2 months and already the response from those who have had an assessment is overwhelmingly positive.

The mission of the program is to create an enhanced sense of public safety and provide practical advice for victims of property crime. The program aims to reduce the risk and fear of crime through support and education.

The objective of the officers involved is to act as crime prevention ambassadors to victims of property crime within the Oceanside RCMP jurisdiction. The officers engage in community outreach and provide advice, including a range of home and personal security information.

Oceanside RCMP Auxiliary Officers and Regular members attend the homes or businesses of people who want to know how to better secure their property from crime. Several suggestions are made in a free, no pressure meeting.

It is very rewarding to see people gain confidence and peace of mind after a crime. We can provide simple advice for free that will help better secure your home and therefore, your piece of mind. -States Auxiliary Constable Mike Dally (seen below on the left).
