File # 2017-2223

On Monday March 20, Oceanside RCMP were inundated with over 10 reports of damage and theft to mailboxes. Many people attended their neighbourhood mail box on the morning of March 20, only to find that the doors had been pried open and mail had been stolen. Many of these offences occurred in the Eaglecrest Community of Qualicum Beach.

Residents are urged to collect their mail every afternoon after delivery. As well, if you are planning a getaway consider having your mail held or having someone you trust collect it in your absence.

With employment information, cheques and T4’s in the mail, unfortunately tax time proves popular for mail thieves. – states Cpl. Jesse Foreman
