File # 2017-273

On January 15, after a detailed investigation, members of the Oceanside RCMP obtained a Search Warrant for a suspected drug house in a popular Parksville subdivision. Once inside the residence, a 59 year old man who was living in the home was arrested. A search revealed a significant quantity of suspected heroin and cocaine. In addition, $2000 in cash and 2 firearms were seized from the home as part of the investigation.

The accused, a 59 year old man, has been released on a Promise to Appear in Nanaimo Provincial Court in April. Proposed charges include Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

I’m thankful to the general public for alerting us to this problem house. Whenever you have a suspected drug house in an area it is unsettling for nearby residents and the community as a whole. – States S/Sgt. Pelletier
