The Oceanside RCMP received the report of the theft (air nail gun) from the same store and immediately began looking for the suspect vehicle. Later, Oceanside RCMP officers located the suspect’s black Jeep Cherokee and made an arrest. Upon arrest, the suspect lied about his identity and provided identification belonging to another individual.
Once the real identity of the suspect was discovered, a police query revealed that he had 10 outstanding arrest warrants stemming from crimes committed in the Lower Mainland.
The suspect, a 44 year old Lower Mainland man who had come to Oceanside to live with family is now in custody awaiting a court appearance. New proposed charges include Theft under $5000 x 3, Identity Fraud, Obstruction, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
