File # 2019-12935
On November 27, members of the Oceanside RCMP were kept busy by a female in Qualicum Beach on a drunken crime spree. Wanted on 3 arrest warrants and driving a stolen vehicle, 41 year old Colleen Maria Anderson of no fixed address is accused of going on a crime spree in Qualicum Beach. The Oceanside RCMP received several calls from citizens and business owners in Qualicum Beach reporting an intoxicated female who was causing a disturbance and shoplifting.
When officers eventually located Anderson in North Qualicum Beach, she was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Campbell River on November 25. Anderson was found to be intoxicated and was subjected to an impaired driving investigation that found her blood alcohol level to more than 2 times the legal limit. In the vehicle there was property that tied her to two thefts that had occurred earlier in Parksville and Qualicum Beach. At the time of arrest, Anderson was wanted on three arrest warrants from two different jurisdictions.
I would like to thank all the residents and business owners who called in and provided good descriptions and accounts in a timely fashion. - States S/Sgt. Pelletier.
This really assisted us in our efforts to catch this prolific offender.
Anderson was held in custody and made her first appearance in Nanaimo Provincial Court today, where she was remanded in custody. Anderson will make her next appearance on December 5.
