File # 2017-6806
Tue Apr 11 15:49:00 PDT 2017

The The Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP are seeking information regarding a male driver of a white pick-up truck offering and Armstrong child a ride last Thursday.

At approximately 2:30 pm on Thursday April 6, 2017, the The Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP received a report a suspicious occurrence involving a young boy being offered a ride. It was reported that the boy was walking home on Rosedale Ave at Colony St in Armstrong, B.C. just after 2:10 pm that Thursday, when a white truck stopped and the male driver asked "hey kid want a ride home?". The boy declined and the male driver started yelling at the boy who immediately ran away. The vehicle then drove off.

According to the boy, the truck was a 2 door white truck, possible a Dodge, without a truck cap with BC licence plates with heavier bumpers. The driver was described as a male with long hair who "dressed like a cowboy or farmer" due to the brown vest he was wearing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident asked to contact the The Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP at 250-546-3028 or via Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477
